Operative Program Regional Development (OPRD)

  Operative program “Regional development” represents unified operative program for all six regions for planning in Bulgaria, which are eligible for financing on purpose “Rapprochement” on policy for rapprochement of EU. To a great extent it reflects coordination with other sector operative programs with the aim to guarantee coordination and supplementary in an effective way.  

  The main strategic aim of the program is to improve life quality and working environment with better access to major services and new opportunities for increased regional competitiveness and sustainable development. The purposes will be realized via five axes of priority, as follows:  

• Sustainable and integrated city development
• Regional and local accessibility
• Sustainable development of tourism
• Local development and cooperation
• Technical assistance

  According to preliminary financial distribution, the total budget of program Operative program “Regional development” for the period 2007 -2013 year will be to the amount of 1 601 274 759 Euro, from which EU  (European Regional Development Fund) will supply 1 361 083 545 Euro.
